Bright Morning Star Coming to Rest on October 25th, 2018

End of the Evening Star - Get Ready for the 'Christmas Star'

    The End of the Evening Star: Since last February, Venus has been a fixture of the evening sky, shining more brightly than anything other than the Moon and the sun itself. Not anymore.

    The second planet is swinging in front of the sun and getting lost in the glare. Human eyes can't see it, but coronagraphs onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) can.

    Venus will be a bright dot in daily SOHO LASCO C3 coronagraph images, moving from left to right from approximately 23 up to 30 of October.

    SOHO will be able to track Venus as it passes by the sun, transitioning from an Evening Star to a Morning Star.

    Venus will pass between the Earth and sun on October 26, 2018. Astronomers call Venus’ passage between us and the sun an inferior conjunction of Venus.
    The planet falls 6 degrees south of the sun on Oct. 26 at inferior conjunction, in line with the sun from Earth's perspective, so it will be well-nigh impossible to see Venus on those evenings or the mornings of adjacent days.

    But don't despair, in early November, Venus will sprout up into the predawn sky to begin a spectacular morning apparition. By the winter holidays, it will make for a very appropriate "Christmas star," shining high in the eastern sky and rising more than 2 hours before the break of dawn and nearly 4 hours before the sun appears.

The morning star. Literally, this would be Venus, the brightest object in the sky after the sun and the moon. Here it means either great glory; or, as in Rev_22:16, the Messiah himself, whose coming was foretold by Bil'am: "A star shall step forth out of Jacob" (Num_24:17). See 2Pe_1:19.

    The Root and Offspring of David. King David sprang from this Root, because Yeshua pre-existed David (Mic_5:1 (Mic_5:2), Joh_8:58), and through Yeshua everything, including David's ancestor Adam, was made (Joh_1:1-2, Joh_1:14). But Yeshua is also David's offspring; in particular, he is the promised Son of David who would be the Messiah (see Mat_1:1). Yeshua's Davidic ancestry is referred to in the rest of the New Testament also at Mat_1:6, Mat_9:27, Mat_15:22, Mat_21:9; Luk_1:32, Luk_2:4, Luk_3:31; Rom_1:3; 2Ti_2:8. In Revelation the term "Root of David" is found also at 5:5.
