This article is just looking at the Dates surrounding the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, Israel. Many articles are written that the Dome of the Rock is the Abomination of Desolation and I just looked at the first 10 on a search engine. What intrigues me is the dates such as 583 BCE, 167 BCE, 687 CE-691 CE plus or minus 2. 1947 CE, 1948, CE, 1967 CE, 1977 CE, 2022-2024.

Here is a brief history of the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa mosque. They were constructed on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Israel. Jerusalem was captured about 638 AD, six years after the death of Muhammad, by the Muslim Caliph Omar. Soon after his occupation of the city, Omar cleansed the Temple Mount, built a small mosque and dedicated the site to Muslim worship. A larger timber mosque was constructed on the site starting about 674. Between 687-691 (other authorities give a date range from 685 to 692), Caliph Abd al-Malik built a shrine over the sacred rock (which was considered to be the site where Abraham had built an altar on which he prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac), and it was named Qubbat As-Sakhrah, which means "The Dome of the Rock." Between 709-715, Caliph al-Walid, son of Abd al-Malik, rebuilt and expanded the mosque.

The mosque has been completely or partially destroyed by earthquake several times, in 747,1016, 1033, 1927, and 1936. Reconstruction followed each destruction. The Al Aqsa mosque was completely reconstructed from 1938 to 1942. The Dome of the Rock has never been destroyed, although it was damaged by earthquake in 1927.

Christ said of the abomination of desolation: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains..." (Matt. 24:15,16).

This story does not begin in 687-691 CE but begins as early as 608 BCE. 603 BCE +1290 years = 687 CE which is the beginning construction year for Dome of the Rock for most articles. 603 BCE +1335 years = 732 CE. 732 was the year of The Battle of Tours, France.

Jeremiah removed the Altar of Incense shortly before Jerusalem fell to Nebuchadnezzar on March 15, 597. The daily sacrifice was abolished. The 1290 years begins with the Jewish year March of 598 to April of 597 BC. So we count forward 1290 years and we end in the Jewish year beginning in March of 692 AD. There is no zero year so time goes from 1 BC to 1 CE so you have to subtract 1 year.

Sacrifices were suspended three times in the Old Testament: once before Daniel (Chronicles 28:24-25), once during the Babylonian captivity in 583 BC (Chronicles 36:19 and Ezra 3:6), and once, about four hundred years later, by the Greek king Antiochus Epiphanies. Let's try the 583 date considering that the angel Gabriel may have had Daniel write about the abolition of sacrifices with which he was directly familiar.


Old Testament - day = year "language" is suggested in Genesis' account of the flood as 30 day months pointing to a 360 day prophetic year, each year being equal to .9857 solar year (360/365.24) of or our modern historical record that the event dating comes from. 1290 x .9857 = 1271.5 solar years. Subtracting 583 we arrive again at 688.5 AD. The founding year of The Dome of the Rock - THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION.

The daily sacrifices were stopped about two years after the destruction of Solomon's temple, by the Babylonians, around 584 BC. 

A prophetic year contains 360 days. 
1290 prophetic years = 360 days x 1290 = 464,400 days 
464,400 days / 365.25 days per solar year = 1,271.46 solar years.

584+1335= 751 CE. 752 CE Sabbath Year (Shemitah Lev 25:1-8)

          754-6 Papal States Vatican Rule Starts. 70 years from 685-686 CE with Dome of the Rock. 1260 years ends on Dec 31, 2016.

Abbasid Caliphate

The Abbasid Caliphate (Arabic: العبّاسيّون‎, al-‘Abbāsīyūn) was the third of the Islamic Caliphates of the Islamic Empire.

It was ruled by the Abbasid dynasty of caliphs, who built their capital in Baghdad after overthrowing the Umayyad caliphs from all but Al Andalus.

It was founded by a descendant of Muhammad's youngest uncle, Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib. It was created in Harran in 750 C.E. and shifted its capital in 762 C.E from Harran to Baghdad. It flourished for two centuries, but slowly went into decline with the rise to power of the Turkish army it had created, the Mamluks. Within 150 years of gaining power across Persia, they were forced to cede power to local dynastic amirs who only nominally acknowledged their power, and had to cede Al Andalus to an escaped Umayyad royal and the Maghreb and Ifriqiya to independent entities such as the Aghlabids and the Fatimids.

Their rule was briefly ended for three years in 1258, when Hulagu Khan, the Mongol conqueror, sacked Baghdad, resuming in Egypt in 1261. They continued to claim authority in religious matters from their base in Mamluk Egypt up to 1519 when power was formally transferred to the Ottomans and the capital transferred to Istanbul.

Let's try the very next verse after Daniel's 1290 days verse, and see if we can confirm the method we used, with Daniel's 1335 "days":

1335 x .9857(O.T. prophetic year "language" conversion) = 1315.9 - 583 BC = 732.9 AD. 


A quick Yahoo search determines that 732 was the year of The Battle of Tours, France. This battle was fought exactly 100 years after Mohammed's death. The Battle of Tours is widely considered to be the most important battle of the entire Christian era. Charles "Martel" (the hammer), against astronomical odds, defeated the Islamic army, and the spread of Islam, in its near conquest of the whole known world, as it headed up through Europe during the Islamic First Jihad. Indeed blessed was he who patiently waited and made it through the First Jihad, without converting to Islam, or denying his Lord and Savior.

687 CE+167 = 854 years/7 years =122 times or 122 Shemitah years.

685-691 CE

685 CE Dome of the Rock set up by Catholicism (Catholicism created Islam when Mohammad was alive) is the Abomination that causes Desolation. 686 CE sign in Heaven on the Day of Trumpet 9/24/686 +1260= 1946. +1290= 1976. 686+1335= 2020.  685+1260=1945.  685+1290=1975.  684/685-1290 years = 606/607 BCE.

687-691 is mentioned above. 687 +1260=1947 when the proclamation of Israel went out. 687+1290 years = 1977 when Israel reached the age of maturity.  1977 CE The State of Israel reaches the Jewish “age of maturity.” In the Old Testament Bible, priests could not work in the tabernacle until age 30. See Numbers 4:3. From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

This was when they were considered mature. Modern Israel was born in 1947. Now do the calculation: 1947 + 30 = 1977.

“When the fig tree putteth forth leaves” could be considered as another way of saying “when Israel becomes mature.” An example of this maturity is that the Liqud political party came to power in Israel in 1977. The Hebrew word Liqud means ‘The Consolidation’ in English. 40 years till 2017.

           688-691 Sabbath year (Shmita  שמיטה‎) Dome of the Rock (Mosque of Omar) built by Caliph Abdel-Malik on the grounds of the destroyed Jewish Temple. 688+1260 years =1948.

The Book of Daniel gives the first clue that the Dome of the Rock is indeed the abomination of desolation by stating  that the time period between when the daily sacrifices are taken away until the abomination of desolation would be set up would be 1,290 "days" (see Dan 12:11, cited above). If we calculate this time period as starting from the period of the Babylonian exile (when Babylon first invaded Judah and effectively interupted the daily sacrifices), then caculating 1,290 years on from the date of the first deportation of Jewish exiles to Babylon in 598BC, we arrive at the year 691AD - the year of the completion of the Dome of the Rock! (Remember to subtract 1, since there is no year "0" in the Anno Domini system). The 70 generations to restore Israel was understood among religious Jews.   604+2554 years = 1948. 70 generations of 2554 would average 36 years for an average generation (Perry Stone: Deciphering End-Time Prophetic Codes. Interestingly, if you work back from 1948 (Israeli declaration of independence) using the prophesised 1335 years this emerges:-

1,335 prophetic years is 1,315.81 solar years.
AD 1948 – 1315.81 solar years = AD 632
Looking up this year in history reveals that AD 632 was the year of Muhammed’s death!

Next, the same calculation without converting the prophetic years:-
AD 1948 – 1335 years = AD 613
AD 613 is the year in which Muhammed first started preaching his new religion in Mecca. Year 1 of Islam…

Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Old Testament calculations:

42 x 30.44 = 1278.48 years

A solar year (which we are on) is 365.24 days.  Divide 365.24 by 12 months in the year = 30.44 days

In 688 AD the Dome of the Rock was largely built and the Muslims were in control of Jerusalem.  In 1967 the Israeli's finally regained control of Jerusalem after 2500 years.  So the Gentiles (Muslims) controlled Jerusalem and the Holy Mount for 1278.48 years as this prophecy predicted.

1967 - 1278.48 = 688.52
