Passage of Psalm 40
9 pages
What
desolation and trouble David experienced during these days. He was
betrayed, cursed, and given very little honor, as his own son sought
his life and his throne. A study of II Sam. 15:31-17:24 will help in
understanding David's position and the attitude of his heart at this
time. This is the period in which David wrote the greatest number of
his psalms.

Remember
now that David had brought all of this upon himself because of his sin. It is one thing to be forgiven of sin, but quite another to
suffer the consequences of sin. Although God had forgiven the sin of
David, He told David that all of the things that were now occurring
would come to pass as a result of David's sin against Uriah. An
alcoholic may be forgiven of his sin and saved, but he will always
show and suffer the results of that alcoholism. Salvation and
repentance can cure the problem of the spirit and soul, but will not
erase the scar of sin.
The
urgency of the pursuit did not lesson. Absalom made Amasa his
captain, in order to better organize the forces and give new vitality
to his army. They continued to pursue David in Gilead. Now David's
people were away from home, hunted as animals, and hungry with no
provisions. By the time David and his people reached Mahanaim, they
were completely destitute, and David could no longer supply their
needs, but God could.
Why
is it that we must often be brought to total destitution in life
before we will completely rely on God? What makes us that way? David
was no different from us and he had to reach this point also.
Whatever happens to bring us to the place of complete dependence on
God, let us be thankful for it. After God doe provide for David's
needs, David pours his heart out in thanksgiving in some very
precious psalms such as 42, 43, 55, 71, 28, 143, 70, 27, 121, and 40.
Psalm
40 is on the Burnt offering of Yeshua. Burnt
sacrifice’—Heb. ‘ôlâh, lit. ‘that which goes up’ (on the
altar). The name is supposed to point to the feature by which the
‘ôlâh was distinguished from all other sacrifices, viz., the
burning of the whole victim as a holocaust upon the altar. This
characteristic is more explicitly brought out by the rare designation
kâlîl, the ‘whole burnt offering’ of Deu_33:10 RV (AV ‘whole
burnt sacrifice’) and Psa_51:19. ‘Whole offering’ would be a
more exact equivalent of the burnt sacrifice and the whole burnt
sacrifice.
My
Help and My Deliverer
Psa
40:1 To
the chief Musician, A Psalm/Mizmor of David.
I waited patiently (Hebrew in waiting I waited) for the LORD/Jehovah;
and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
This
psalm is supposed to have been composed by David about the same time,
and on the same occasion, as the two preceding; with this difference,
that here he magnifies God for have obtained the mercy which he
sought there. It also contains a remarkable prophecy of the
incarnation and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Psa
40:2 He brought me up (take up, caught up, gathered, raptured, drew
me, took me, delivered me, quicken me and bring me up) also out of an
horrible pit (Heb. pit of noise, Mat_13:50), out of the miry clay,
and set (Psalm 27:5) my feet upon a rock (Hebrew. Sela; Psa_18:1,
Psa_18:2), and established (Psa_17:5, Psa_18:36, Psa_37:23,
Psa_119:133) my goings.
The
lake of fire and brimstone is the pit of Hell/Sheol. The Lord brought
me out of the pit with His life on the Tav/staff. He paid His ransom
for my life.
Psalm
27:5 is a rapture verse and can refer to one year.
Our
feet are established by the Word of God in our lives and walking it
out.
Psa
40:3 And he (Psa_33:3, Psa_144:9; Rev_5:9-10, Rev_14:3) hath put a
new song (Psa_33:3) in my mouth, even praise (Psa_103:1-5;
Isa_12:1-4) unto our God/Elohim: many (Psa_34:1-6, Psa_35:27,
Psa_52:6, Psa_64:9-10, Psa_142:7; Hos_3:5) shall see it, and fear,
and shall trust (confide Hebrew. Batah; Prov 3:5-8) in the LORD.
In
2014, I had a new song and words I could not understand in a dream
but when I woke up I was praising God all day long. In 2017 from an
article on the 144,000 Jewish Evangelist who stay after the rapture
to evangelize, I found out that I am a hermit and one of those
people. We come from all walks of life and are both men and women who
have not been married to politics or church politics.
Isa
12 refers to the Day of the Lord.
Hoseah
3:5 refers to the latter days or last days which according to the Blog
timeline began in 1947/1948 to the present with emphasis on the
tribulation period of 2007-2017.
Psa
40:4 Blessed/happy (Psa_2:12, Psa_34:8, Psa_84:11-12, Psa_118:8-9;
Jer_17:7-8; Rom_15:12-13) is that man (strong man. Hebrew. Geber)
that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth (Psa_15:4,
Psa_101:3-7, Psa_119:21) not the proud, nor such as turn aside to
lies (SUNday worship; All saints day; Halloween; Christmas; Easter;
pagan/heathen holidays; Replacement Theology; Imminency of Christ
meaning any time any year when it can only happen in a year of
Jubilee (Lev 25:9-10 and only on a New Moon, Full Moon or Solemn
Feast Day (Psalm 81:3; Prov 7:20 (full moon); saying there is 7 years
between the rapture (Psalm 117) and Second Coming (Psalm 118); Saying
that Deut 24:5 does not mean a year when it reads one year). LIARS
burn in the lake of fire and brimstone: Rev 21:8 But the fearful,
and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers,
and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in
the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second
death.
We
need to learn to follow the commandments of God.
Psa
40:5 Many, O LORD/Jehovah my God/Elohim , are thy wonderful works
which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they
cannot (etc. or, none can order them unto thee, Job_37:19-20) be
reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered/rehearsed.
Psa
40:6 Sacrifice (Hebrew. zabach. Quoted in Heb_10:5-12; Jer_7:21-23;
Hos_6:6; Mat_9:13; Mat_12:7) ) and offering (Hebrew. minchah.
Compare Heb_10:5-7. Note the four great offerings here, and
separately: Psa_40:6= any sacrifice; -6-, the meal offering; -6-,
burnt offering; -6, sin offering (compare Psalm 22); and in Ps. 69
=the trespass offering) thou didst/hast not desire; mine ears
hast/didst thou opened (digged. Kal Pret. of karah, = opening by
digging, or boring. Note the occurrences: Gen_50:5. Num_24:18.
2Ch_16:14 (margin) Psa_7:15 (margin); Psa_40:6; Psa_57:6; Psa_119:85.
Jer_18:22, Jer_18:22, referring to the opening of the ear to hear;
for which, in Isa_50:5 (compare Isa_48:8), another word (pathah) is
used with the meaning of opening (as of a door). Note the obedience,
which is the point emphasized by the alternation in Psa_40:6. |
Sacrifice and offering. Not desired. | Mine ears hast Thou digged.
(Pos.) | Burnt-offering and sin-offering. Not required. | Lo, I come
to do. (Pos.) Obedience is the great truth here conveyed; and, on the
same grounds as in 1Sa_15:22. Jer_7:22, Jer_7:23. Heb_10:5, is not a
quotation of this verse: it is what Messiah "said" when He
came into the world to perform what Psa_40:6 prophesied, when He had
become Incarnate, and could say "I am come". He must change
the word "ears" for the "body", in which that
obedience was to be accomplished, and He had a right to change the
words, and thus adapt them. It is not a question of quotation, or of
the Septuagint versus the Hebrew text. Note the heaping up of these
expressions to emphasize the obedience, and observe the alternation
of positive and negative in verses: Psa_40:9, Psa_40:10): burnt
offering (Psalm 40) and sin offering (Psalm 22) hast thou not
required.
Isa
66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that
sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth
an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense,
as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and
their soul delighteth in their abominations. Rev 21:8 But the
fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have
their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which
is the second death.
Psa
40:7 Then said I (i.e. at Incarnation, when He "came into the
world" (Heb_10:5)), Lo (Heb_10:7-9), I come (Hear and obey;
receive, accept): in the volume of the book (Torah, the book of the
Law; Genesis to Deuteronomy) it is written (it is prescribed. Compare
2Ki_22:13) of me,
2Ki
22:13 Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for
all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great
is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our
fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do
according unto all that which is written concerning us.
God
is bringing His wrath on the world through Yeshua/Jesus because we
and our fathers have not listened to the Torah and to walk it out in
our lives.
The
Bible is about the first and Second Coming of Jesus.
Luk
24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto
you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled,
which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in
the psalms, concerning me.
Psa
40:8 I delight (Psa_112:1, Psa_119:16,
Psa_119:24, Psa_119:47, Psa_119:92; Job_23:12; Jer_15:16; Joh_4:34;
Rom_7:22; Rom_8:29) to
do thy will (good pleasure), O my God: yea (Psa_37:30-31;
Pro_3:1; Jer_31:33; 2Co_3:3), thy law is
within (in the midst of) my heart (bowels:
i.e. my inward parts).
Since
Yeshua is Lord, He does the Will of God and the Law is within Him.
Since
the age of 8, I have been doing the will of God in my life but I did
not find out until I was 58. Since 1967, I have had over 55 fulfilled
God dreams for my life.
Yeshua
came as the burnt offering as the sacrificial lamb and as the King
because He was following the will of God which is found in the Torah
such as Leviticus 23 which is all about the first and second coming
of Jesus and is explained throughout the Tenakh but you have to be an
berean to unlock the scriptures one precept at a time and line upon
line and connect the dots.
The
cross references refer to obedience of the laws, commandments,
statues, and ordinances found in the Torah and some refer to even in
th Millennium (Psalm 119; Jer 31:31-36).
Psa
40:9 I have preached (declared as glad
tidings = euaggelizo in N.T.)
righteousness in the great congregation/assembly: lo, I have not
(Psa_119:13, Psa_119:171-172)
refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest (Hear, receive, accept, do
and understand).
Psalm
119=2019 and the Millennium. The Laws of God are a part of the
Millennium.
Psa
40:10 I have not hid (did not hide;
Eze_2:7, Eze_3:17-18; Act_20:20-21) thy
righteousness within my heart (bowels: i.e. my inward parts); I have
declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation/deliverance: I have not
concealed (did not conceal)
thy lovingkindness (mercy, grace, favor) and thy truth from/in the
great congregation.
As
a watchman on the wall, I warn you until the Day of the Rapture that
Judgment is coming by way of the Trumpet and Bowl judgments. I tell
you to repent unto God for your idol worship and to have faith in
Yeshua for what has been said in the word of God will be fulfilled in
this time frame we are in.
Psa
40:11 Withhold (From this verse to the end,
we have quite a new subject; for the former contains a thanksgiving,
and this contains a supplication. It is nearly the same as the
seventieth, and probably formed a distinct Psalm. Psa_69:13,
Psa_69:16) not thou (Thou
wilt not withhold) thy tender mercies from
me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve
me.
Psa
40:12 For innumerable (Psa_22:11-19;
Heb_4:15) evils (calamities.
Hebrew. ra'a') have compassed me about:
mine iniquities (for their punishment.
Hebrew. 'aven. Laid on Him as the substituted sacrifice) have
taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more
than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart/courage faileth me.
The
cross references refer to the first coming of Yeshua.
Psa
118:10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD
will I destroy them. 118:11 They compassed me about; yea, they
compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
118:12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the
fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. Day
of Atonement with marriage of the Groom and Bride and Armageddon.
Sept 19, 2018 at the end of the Ezekiel 38-39 War.
Psa
40:13 Be (Psa_25:17-18; Mat_26:36-44)
pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste (Psa_38:22,
Psa_70:1-5) to help me.
Heaviness
of heart for sins of the Globe and the Garden of Gethemene. Watch and
Pray to be counted worthy to be resurrected on the Day of the
Rapture. By His raising from the dead, He gives us hope that on our
resurrection day, that we are counted worthy to enter into the
Messianic Kingdom on Sept 24, 2018 at the first annual Sabbath of
Feast of Tabernacles (Psalm 118:15/Rev 11:15ff; Rev 20).
He
comes to us on our day of Salvation and our bags are ready for the
Day of Rapture but all we need to do is ask Him now to come into our
lives and walk with us and talk to us in His word. We learn by
obedience to walk out His will in our lives as long as we walk out
His laws in our lives.
Psa
40:14 Let them be ashamed (The verbs in the
preceding verse, in which the psalmist simply prays for deliverance,
are in the imperative; but here, and in the following verses, they
are in the future tense, and naturally express the language of lively
faith and hope, rather than that of wishing the destruction foreseen
and predicted. Psa_31:17-18, Psa_35:4, Psa_35:26, Psa_70:2-3,
Psa_71:13; Isa_41:11, Isa_45:24) and
confounded together that seek after my soul (Hebrew.
Nephesh) to destroy it; let them be driven
backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
Those
who seek after evil shall perish in the lake of fire and brimstone
for eternity. Those who are written in the Book of Death (90 percent
of humanity) and those in the book of luke-warm which covers 2-9
percent of humanity, may enter in to the Messianic Kingdom or shall
perish into the lake of fire and brimstone. For these ones, it is
50/50 chance.
Psa
40:15 Let them be desolate (Psa_69:24-25;
Ps 73:19; Psa_109:6-20; Luk_19:43-44, Luk_21:23-24)
for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha (Compare
Psa_35:21; Psa_70:3) .
For
the wicked, the wrath/indignation of God will be poured out onto
mankind during the Trumpet and Bowl Judgments of Revelation. This can
be over a one year period, 9 month period, 8.5 month period (Feb 15th
to Day of Trumpet beginning on the New Moon) or even a 7 month period
(Nisan 1 to Day of Trumpet). The closest time would be 5.5 month
period because the Exodus plagues were poured out over a 5.5 month
period (Pentecost to Day of Trumpet).
Many
will be led captive and die by the swords (of Islam).
Luke
19:43-44 reminded me of WWI or WWII when the Nazi's buried people
alive in trenches and what Islam is doing to try to stamp out the
Jews and Christians in the Middle East. Remember that Satan comes to
deceive, steal, kill and destroy. Islam comes to deceive, steal,
kill, and destroy. The New World Order comes to deceive, steal, kill,
and destroy. The United Nations comes to deceive, steal, kill, and
destroy. 90 percent to 95 percent of humanity comes to deceive,
steal, kill, and destroy.
Psa
40:16 Let (Compare Psa_35:27; Psa_70:4)
all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as
love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Seek
the Lord while you still have time for the Day of Rapture is the end
of grace. After that comes judgment. Seek His Word to flow in you and
through you. Walk out His Word in your lives and go not go after idols
of this world like the heathen/pagans do.
Psa
40:17 But I am poor (afflicted. Hebrew.
'anah) and needy; yet the Lord thinketh
(will think. For all that the thoughts can
devise, plan, or order) upon me: thou art
my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
The
Lord is coming Now to judge the globe in truth and righteousness. The
door close on the Day of Rapture and then comes judgment. The door
closes on the day you die and then comes judgment.
Give
your lives to God and walk in His ways while you are still alive for
the door does not stay open indefinitely.
