 Fast of Tisha B' Av 

     Fast Day Lamenting Destruction of Temples - Fast begins prior to sunset of the previous day and concludes after sunset of the date indicated above. Anniversary of the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, and other Jewish tragedies. Climax of three week mourning period and, within those weeks, of a more intense nine-day mourning period. Fast in memory of Elohim's declaration against murmurers entering Canaan (Num 14:29-31). Special mourning customs and prayers. Work Restrictions: Limited restrictions work through mid-day.

Tisha B'Av falls in July or August in the Gregorian calendar. When the ninth of Av falls on Shabbat, the observance is deferred until Sunday the tenth (although that day is still referred to as Tish`ah be-Av). According to the Mishnah (Taanit 4:6), the day commemorates five events: the destruction of the Temples, the return of the twelve scouts/spies sent by Moshe/Moses to observe the land of Canaan/Promised Land, the razing of Jerusalem following the siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE, and the failure of Bar Kokhab's revolt against the Roman Empire.

The Tisha B'Av fast lasts about 25 hours, beginning at sunset on the eve of Tisha B'Av and ending at nightfall the next day. In addition to the prohibitions against eating or drinking, observant Jews also observe prohibitions against washing or bathing, applying creams or oils, wearing leather shoes, or having marital relations. In addition, mourning customs similar to those applicable to the shiva period immediately following the death of a close relative are traditionally followed for at least part of the day, including sitting on low stools, refraining from work, and not greeting others.

The Book of lamentations is traditionally read, followed by the kinnot, a series of liturgical lamentations. In Sephardic communities, it is also customary to read the Book of Job.

Five calamities

According to the Mishnah (Taanit 4:6), five specific events occurred on the ninth of Av that warrant fasting:

The twelve spies sent by Moshe/Moses to observe the land of Canaan returned from their mission. Only two of the spies, Joshua and Caleb, brought a positive report, while the others spoke disparagingly about the land. The majority report caused the Children of Israel to cry, panic and despair of ever entering the "Promised Land". For this, they were punished by God that their generation would not enter the land. Because of the Israelites' lack of faith, God decreed that for all generations this date would become one of crying and misfortune for their descendants, the Jewish people. (See Numbers Ch. 13–14)

1487 BCE Sabbath Year (Shemitah)

2439 (2460) 1487 BCE  Ten of twelve spies return with negative report, die; Numbers 14:37. They entered in 1489/85 and 2016 CE is 70 year Jubilee.

The First Temple built by King Solomon and the Kingdom of Judah was destroyed by the Babylonians led by Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BCE and the Judeans were sent into the Babylonian exile.

3327 Yehoyachim (Yechonia) ben Yehoyakim becomes king and reigns for only three months. Nebuchadnezzar exiles him to Babylon together with 10,000 people and the Torah Sages (II Kings 24:16)
3327 Zedekiah ben Yehoyakim becomes the last King of Judea (24:18)
3338 The First Temple is destroyed. It had stood for 410 years.

The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE, scattering the people of Judea and commencing the Jewish exile from the Holy Land.

Following the Roman seige of Jerusalem, the razing of Jerusalem occurred the next year. A Temple was built in its stead to an idol.

According to the Talmud in tractate Ta'anit, the destruction of the Second Temple began on the ninth and was finally consumed by the flames the next day on the Tenth of Av.

Second Temple 3768 Rome (the dominant power in Judea since 3648) begins to appoint the Kings of Judea. The first Roman appointee is Agrippas ben Aristoblus.
3788 The Sanhedrin is exiled (Avodah Zarah 9b). Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai, a student of Hillel the Elder (who died in 3768), becomes Head of the Academy (Zemach David 910).
3804 Agrippas II becomes the last Roman-appointed King and Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel becomes Nassi (Prince).
3828 The Second Temple is destroyed. It had stood for 420 years.

Bar Kokhba's revolt against Rome failed in 135 CE. Simon bar Kokhba was killed, and the city of Betar was destroyed.

    126, 133  Sabbath year (Shmita  שמיטה‎)

Mur 24E Jewish revolt began  Two Sabbatical Years connected with the Bar Kochba Revolt (132-135). Bar Kochba made a land lease agreement in the second year of his revolt specifying 5 years of harvest to be followed by the Sabbatical year. A rental contract, written in Hebrew, dated to the era of the Bar Kochba revolt (labeled as “Mur 24E”), showed that in the second year of the revolt five years of harvest would be collected before the next Sabbatical year. This contract was found among several contracts in the caves of Wadi Murabba’ (also known as Nahal Darga) in the Judean Desert near Bethlehem. This property was seized by the Jews during the revolt. They are dated on Shevat 20, year two of the Kochba revolt. Both Eusebius ( Ecclesiastical History IV 6) and the best manuscripts of the Seder Olam point to the 16th year of Hadrian as the specific year that the Jewish revolt began, i.e. 133 C.E

Other calamities

Over time, Tisha B'Av has come to be a Jewish day of mourning, not only for these pre-Talmudic events, but also for later tragedies. Regardless of the exact dates of these events, for many Jews, Tisha B'Av is the designated day of mourning for them, and these themes are reflected in liturgy composed for this day (see below).

1.  The Roman army plowed Jerusalem with salt in 71 CE.

2. In the year 130 CE, Emperor Hadrain ordered Govenor Tineius Rufus to plow Jerusalem over. This plowing fulfilled Micah 3:12 to erase “Yehudah” from memory.

3. In 136 CE, Hadrian established a heathen temple on the site of the Jewish Temple and rebuilt Jerusalem as a pagan city which was renamed “Aelia Capitolina” to which the Jews were forbidden to enter. Hadrian also changed the name of the region from Israel to “Palestina”.

4. The crusades began in 1096, killing more than 1.2 million Jews along the way, as Christians marched across Europe to the Land of Israel, to liberate it from the infidel.

5. In 1190, 500 Jews died in York, England, during an anti-Jewish riot during the Third Crusade.

6. In 1242 Pope Urban II declared the Crusades on the 9th of Av 

7. Under orders from King Edward 1, Jews were expelled from England in 1290. They were given until “All Saints Day” October 31 that year, to depart, and they did not regain the right to settle there again until 1657.

8. The Alhambra Decree of 1492, expelling the Jews from Spain, took effect on the 7th of Av, just two days before Tisha B'Av. 200,000 Hispanic Jews had their property seized and were forced to leave the country.

   Notice something about these years. Do you see a 4^th Day event? The Sun, Moon, and Stars were created on the 4^th day. Yeshua came 4000 years from Creation approximately.

13. WWI is declared. On the 9^th of Av, 1914, and as Russia mobilized for WWI, it launched persecutions against the Jews in eastern Russia.

14. On the 7^th of Av, in 1941, S.S. Reinhard Heydrich was appointed by Goering to carry out the “final solution” (the murder of all the Jews in Europe). Two days later, on the 9^th of Av, 1941, S.S.Chief Heinrich Himmler formerly presented his plan to the Nazi Party on the “final solution to the Jewish problem”. One year later to the day, the plan was formerly implemented.

15. In 1942, the first killings started at Treblinka. The first transport of “deportees” left Malinia on July 23, 1942, in the morning hours. It was loaded with Jews from the Warsaw ghetto which was packed with 500,000 Jews transplanted from the now “Jewish Free Zones” the Nazis created. Nazis began a systemic liquidation of the Ghetto transporting between 6,000 to 10,000 Jews a day to extermination camps By fall, there were scarcely 40,000 Jews left in Warsaw.

The ordeal suffered by the Jews in Nazi Europe from 1933 to 1945 is conventionally divided into two periods, before and after 1941. In the first period various anti-Semitic measures were taken in Germany, and later Austria. In Germany, after the Nuremberg Laws (1935) Jews lost citizenship rights, the right to hold public office, practice professions, intermarry with Germans, or use public education. Their property and businesses were registered and sometimes confiscated. Continual acts of violence were perpetrated against them, and official propaganda encouraged Germans to hate and fear them. As intended, the result was mass emigration, cutting in half the half-million German and Austrian Jewish population by the start of World War II. The second phase, which occurred during WWII from 1941, spread to Nazi-occupied Europe, and involved forced labour, massed shootings, etc.

Jews expelled out of Spain. 

16. In 1990, Saddam Hussain walked out of peace talks with Kuwait, signaling the beginning of the Gulf War and in the months that followed, he proceeded to hurl his missiles at Israel.

17. Gaza was captured by Israel in the Six Day War of 1967. (n 1993, beginning on the 9^th of Av, Israel transferred the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian National Authority.

Tisha B'Av is the culmination of a three week period of increasing mourning, beginning with the fast of the 17th of Tammuz, which commemorates the first breach in the walls of Jerusalem, before the First Temple was destroyed. During this three week period, weddings and other parties are not permitted, and people refrain from cutting their hair. From the first to the ninth of Av, it is customary to refrain from eating meat or drinking wine (except on the Shabbat) and from wearing new clothing.

The restrictions on Tisha B'Av are similar to those on Yom Kippur: to refrain from eating and drinking (even water); washing, bathing, shaving or wearing cosmetics; wearing leather shoes; engaging in sexual relations; and studying Torah. Work in the ordinary sense of the word (rather than the Shabbat sense) is also restricted. People who are ill need not fast on this day. Many of the traditional mourning practices are observed: people refrain from smiles, laughter and idle conversation, and sit on low stools.

In synagogue, the book of Lamentations is read and mourning prayers are recited. The ark (cabinet where the Torah is kept) is draped in black.

     Genesis 1:1 in the Hebrew has 54 occurrences of the number 7. Revelation has 54 occurrences of the number 7.

    Revelation has 3 time frames. Revelation 2:10 has 10 days of tribulation (Days of Awe). These 10 days can be years (2007-2017) with a sign in Virgo-Leo on the Day of Trumpet. 1 Year with a sign in Virgo on the Day of Trumpet. This one year time frame is known as the Day of the Lord and comes after the Groom takes the Bride home at Midnight (Deut 24:5; Jn 6:38, 40, 44, 54) and it occurs in 5778 in the first year of a new Jubilee counting. According to Isaiah, the Day of the Lord is a one year event and covers both the Trumpet and Bowl Judgments of Revelation. Less than one percent of humanity goes to be with the Messiah.

 We are the last generation. Do you want to be with the Messiah on the Day of Trumpet. Here are the conditions to go in in less than 70 days.

That is who will be taken up on the Day of Trumpet. Believers not only have to hear the Laws of God but wholly follow the Laws of God with all their heart, soul, spirit, and mind. 90 percent of the Christian churches in America is not doing it at this time.

 90-95 percent of humanity is not wholly following the Lord. As for 2-4 percent, 1/2 is not wholly following the Lord and His Laws.

    On the day side of the Globe, the Sun will go down at Noon just as it did on the Day of Passover when the Messiah came the first time. Amo_8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

The gravitational pull of the strange star’s mass will cause the earth to slow down and maybe bring it to a complete halt (Josh 10:11-13--Joshua's Longest Day). The tilting earth will create a “slosh” of all the ocean water that is now bulged up around the equator due to the centrifugal forces of earth’s spinning motion. As a result of these shifting and moving water masses there will be:

     1) tsunamis and violently rising ocean levels up to 400 feet (120 meter); Hab 3:10--Overflowing water passed by. Amos 9:6; Amos 5:6-8; Nah 1:8 (flood)

     2) flooding of all coastal areas and an eventual recessing of these oceanic waters into the earth’s crust.

     3) shifting, lifting and sinking landmasses.

     4) landmasses sinking into and rising out of the ocean.

     5) tidal, crustal and rogue waves.

     6) 200+ mph (320+ kph) winds as the jet stream is coming down to ground level affecting the entire globe. Wind: Gen 8:1; 41:6,23; Exodus 10:13, 19; Job 1:19; Psalm 148:8; Isa 41:16; Jer 4:11-12; 51:1,16; Ezk 13:11, 13; Ezk 19:12; Dan 2:35; Hos 13:15; Rev 6:13.

     7) more tornadoes and regular hurricanes. Whirlwind Job 37:9; Isa 66:15; Jer 23:19; Jer 30:23

     8) hurricanes over land.

     9) shifting of the climatic regions and seasons.

     10) change of the length of days and of the calender (Matt 24:21-22; Mk 13:20).

A disruption in the Earth’s rotation in either speed (normally 1,000 miles per hour) or direction (a pole shift).

The records, both in geology and historical, reflect that multiple events will be occurring simultaneously i.e. melting ice in the Antarctic & Greenland, earthquakes, tsunamis (tidal waves), flooding, torrential rains, abrupt (tropical to arctic minutes!) climate change, 200 mph (320 kph) winds, volcanism, the Gulf Stream stopping and dare I say: a pole shift!”

The Messiah who came the first time did Miracles and signs as well but Jews of today do not believe that. So they do not believe the Lord Messiah did them in Egypt and they do not believe, He will do it again as Messiah Son of David.

 Deu 29:4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
This is talking about all the Jews of today as I write. Even Christian Churches are blind and deaf as to what will be happening in the next 400-500 days because there is a famine of the Word of G-d going on in the lives of the globe except for a few (200,000 people or less). 200,000 people see the signs going on around them and know they are leading up to the Day of the Lord which will begin in less than 80 days.

Deu 29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

1977 CE The State of Israel reaches the Jewish “age of maturity.” In the Old Testament Bible, priests could not work in the tabernacle until age 30. See Numbers 4:3. From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

This was when they were considered mature. Modern Israel was born in 1947. Now do the calculation: 1947 + 30 = 1977.

“When the fig tree putteth forth leaves” could be considered as another way of saying “when Israel becomes mature.” An example of this maturity is that the Liqud political party came to power in Israel in 1977. The Hebrew word Liqud means ‘The Consolidation’ in English. 40 years till 2017.

Deu 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

We have Noah's Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant and Mosaic Covenant with the sign of the Sabbath going on at this time both on Earth as well as in Heaven. Some of us are watching for Signs in the Heaven on His days which are the Sabbaths, 4th day events, New Moon, 7th Day of Feast of Tabernacle, and the first day of Chanukkah. The next major one is the solar eclipse over America bringing Judgments of G-d against America over the next 400-500 days. We are to stand firm in all we do at this time since Judgment is coming upon the globe very soon (next 500 days).

Islam eats food sacrificed to Idols and Christians eat this meat as well (Green sections in the meat departments in grocery stores). Star of David is a talisman and has a curse with it for all those who have one and this also includes Santa Clauses. Christians do most of the abominations that G-d does not like. The towers that Islam uses are Phalllus's of Nimrod. We presently are living out and fulfilling the Days of Noah with transgender movement, and humans to become cyborgs. If I had a sackcloth right now I would be wearing it because of the world not wholly following the Lord.

At 10 years, we have this event if 2017/2018 is the end. 2008 Sabbath year (Shmita שמיטה‎)CE Solar eclipse 1st day Abib; Dow Jones Industrial Average falls 777.7 points. Recession for America. At 20 years, we have these events: 1997 CE Hale-Bopp Comet at Passover; Kyoto Protocol initially adopted Dec. 11/97 Kyoto, Japan, entered into force on 16 Feb. 2005.

1998 Modern Israel's Jubilee.

At 40 years we have this event: 1978 CE Camp David Peace Accord include framework for comprehensive peace in the Middle East and proposal for Palestinian self-government; Israel withdraws from the Sinai peninsula; Egypt recognizes Israel; Sept 18.

So now consider the Fig Tree lesson:

Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves…when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place…” (Matthew 24:32-34).

Can we know what is the length of this “generation” that Jesus spoke about?

And can we know exactly what He meant by the fig tree “putting forth leaves”? There are 7 definitions and 7 is the number of completeness.

1) According to Gen. 6:3 it may be as long as 120 years.

2) Genesis 15:13, coupled with Gen. 15:16 indicates 100 years.

3) Psalms 90:10 indicates a possible 80 years.

4) Psalms 90:10 also indicates a more likely 70 years.

5) Matthew 1:17 may indicate around 50 years.

6) Psalms 95:10 indicates 40 years.

7) Deut. 2:14 indicates 38 years.

2017 – Using ALL 7 generations, based on the premise of ISRAEL being the fig tree Jesus spoke about in the end times:

1) 2017 counting back a 120 year generation = 1897.

Significant event: The first ever Zionist congress was held in Basel, Switzerland in 1897 on August 29.

2) 2017 counting back a 100 year generation = 1917.

Significant event: The first official political act paving the way for Jews to return to their land was the Balfour Declaration of November 1917.

3) 2017 counting back a 80 year generation = 1937.

Significant event: The Peel Commission published a report that for the first time recommended partition of Palestine, and the land under it’s authority be apportioned between an Arab and Jewish state. The plan was declared unimplementable.

4) 2017 counting back a 70 year generation = 1947.

Significant event: The United Nations general assembly voted in favour of the Partition Plan that actually created… the State of Israel!

5) 2017 counting back a 50 year generation = 1967.

Significant event: The Jews regained Jerusalem, fulfilling“when the fig tree putteth forth leaves.”

Some people have reckoned on a 50 year generation, starting with 70 using Psalm 90:10 for an average age, and then taking away 20, because those under 20 years old who came out of Egypt were not counted, as mentioned fifteen times in the book of Numbers, Chapter 1.

Other than the events already mentioned I’m thinking this would be considered the other most positive historical step towards modern Israel’s expansion, showing “the fig tree putting forth leaves”. It led to many long term benefits, such as providing for the free passage of Israeli ships through the Suez Canal.

Revelation 20-21 is the Messianic Kingdom, the Millennium, the last 1000 years between Jubilee 120 and Jubilee 140. It begins in the first year of Jubilee 121 (5778/2018/6001). Aleph =Abba/Father in the Word "Bara" which is broken down to Bar (Son of) Aleph (Father), and R (Ruach HaCodesh) =Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:3 "And Let there be Light" both form a Menorah. The Aleph-Tav is found a total of 2000 times in the Tanakh. It emphasis a noun or a phrase and possibly and entire verse. In the Hebrew, we read right to left just as the New Moon (first sliver of the New Moon) goes right to left throughout the month.
