Sept 16 2016 Lunar Eclipse on the Sabbath

Sept 16 2016 Lunar Eclipse on the Sabbath.

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luk 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Signs in the sun, moon and stars. Understand this to refer to the Great Day of Adonai (Joe_3:1-5 (Joe_2:28-32), Isa_13:9-10).

Psa_8:3-6 :  “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor. Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet”

Jer 31:35  “Thus saith Yahweh, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night ... Yahweh of hosts is his name” .

Psa 104:19  He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

The word seasons here refers back to Leviticus 23 and the Annual Sabbaths.

More verses on lunar eclipses: Other passages causing interference with the constancy of the moon to foreshadow great events can be found in Jer_13:16; Eze_32:7, Eze_32:8; Rev_8:12.

The return of the moon at night was a joy to the Shepherds of Israel.

To shepherds, the moon was of especial assistance, and many of the people of Israel maintained the habits of their forefathers and led the shepherd's life long after the settlement of the nation in Palestine. The return of the moonlit portion of the month was therefore an occasion for rejoicing and for solemn thanks to God.

The Moon as light-giver, assisted men in their labors with the flock and in the field and helping them on their journeys; as time-measurer, indicating the progress of the months and the seasons for the great religious festivals, the moon was to the pious Hebrew an evidence of the goodness and wisdom of God.

September 16 – Full Moon (Elul 13). Red Blood Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illuminated. This phase occurs at 19:05 UTC. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Corn Moon because the corn is harvested around this time of year. This moon is also known as the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the September equinox each year.

The full moon is called a white moon or Lebhānāh, “white”; a poetic expression, used in connection with ḥammāh, “heat,” for the sun.

The moon is compared to the church, and considered a striking emblem of her; for as the whole of her light is derived from the sun, so the church wholly depends upon the Lord Jesus, and only shines in the glory she draws from him. And as the moon is subject to an eclipse, and hath her waxing and waning times, so the church knows how to be abased and how to abound. All her enjoyments, all her splendour, usefulness, services, depend wholly upon her Lord. When Jesus, the Sun of righteousness, causeth his rays of light to act upon the church, by their kind influences, the church then like the moon from the sun, ministers according to the divine appointment of her Lord; but if the earth comes between, that is, if earthly affections intervene between Christ and the soul, then, like the interposition in the planetary world, there will be an eclipse. Hence in a day of brightness, and light, and glory, the church is represented in the Revelations as "a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet.” Everything of earth and earthly affections will be under our feet, when our souls are clothed with the bright robes of Jesus’s righteousness, and Christ himself "formed in the heart the hope of glory." (Rev_12:1; Col_1:27.)

Signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars.

The sun and moon were not only given “for days and years” (Gen_1:14), but also “for signs,” and in no way do they better fulfill what was in the old time understood by this word than in their eclipses.

September 16 – Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the Earth’s partial shadow, or penumbra. During this type of eclipse the Moon will darken slightly but not completely. The eclipse will be visible throughout most of eastern Europe, eastern Africa, Asia, and western Australia. (NASA Map and Eclipse Information)

To the Hebrew prophets, eclipses were “signs” of the power and authority of God who forbade them to be alarmed at portents which distressed the heathen.

The phenomena of both solar and lunar eclipses are briefly but unmistakably described by several of the prophets. Joel refers to them twice (Joe_2:10, Joe_2:31), the second time very definitely: “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,” and this was quoted by Peter on the Day of Pentecost (Act_2:19, Act_2:20). John also says that when the sixth seal was opened “the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood” (Rev_6:12).

When the shadow of the earth falls upon the full moon, and the only rays from the sun that reach it have passed through an immense thickness of our atmosphere and are therefore of a dull copper-red color like clotted blood, “the moon is turned into blood.”

According to Stellarium, in Scorpio, the lineup of Mars, Saturn, and Antares has made  Lamed shape or a “L” shape.  Regulus, Mercury, Sun, Jupiter are in line in Virgo-Leo.

Lamed Teach, Yoke, To, Bind The Lamed is the Shepherd’s staff.

The Sun just passed into the chamber of Virgo and we see the picture of the Father/Son with the Bride/Virgin.

Jdg_3:24  When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

Joe_2:16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

 Sept 17 (Elul 14): Torah Reading: Ki Teitzei: Deut 24:15- 25:19; Haftarah: Isaiah 54:1 – 55:5

From our Sages on the Parshah
For a hanged person is a curse to G-d (Deut. 21:23)

It is a degradation of the Divine King in whose image man is created… This is analogous to a case of two identical twin brothers. One became king, while the other was arrested for robbery and hanged. Whoever saw him, would say, “The king is hanging!” (Talmud, Sanhedrin 46b)
When you reap your harvest… and forget a sheaf in the field, do not go back to fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless and for the widow (Deut. 24:19)

Certain opportunities and potentials are so lofty, that they cannot be accessed by the conscious self; they can only come about “by mistake.” An example of this is the mitzvah of shikchah, which can only be fulfilled by forgetting. (The Chassidic Masters)

Friday seems to be a triple-header for cosmic events: A penumbral lunar eclipse will coincide with Harvest full moon and a 200-foot-wide (60 meter) asteroid will streak past Earth.
The large asteroid was discovered just over two weeks ago and could devastate a city if it struck earth.
NASA says it is heading towards Earth on “a highly uncertain orbit”.

Autumnal Equinox is on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

Friday/Saturday is when the possibility of a showing of Planet X to pass over the globe upclose. Passover here is also a reference to the Autumnal Equinox as well as the Spring Equinox.

The Plot Thickens!!
